We draw the curtains down

We draw the curtains down on what was stole,
To block the expectancy and the glow
Of muted memories, each barb to show
The lost lights and the dimming of the soul.
We live in the here and now but regret
The vacancy, life’s philosophy to find
Continuance, each moment of the mind
A remembrance, yet yearning to forget
A child once lived here and in growing grew
About itself each sinew of this place
Entwining joys and fears with painted hand,
Each finger a testament, as it drew
Loves torment and simplicity to face
It’s soliloquy, written in the sand.
